Thai College of Emergency Physicians (TCEP): Mission and Milestones

 

Historical Overview and Milestones:

The Emergency Medicine training curriculum was officially approved by the Thai Medical Council in 2003, marking the beginning of a new era in emergency medical education in Thailand. The first cohort of emergency physicians graduated in 2007, with 31 pioneering professionals completing their training. By 2016, the Thai College of Emergency Physicians (TCEP) was established, a milestone achieved when Thailand had over 500 certified emergency physicians in compliance with the regulations set forth by the Thai Medical Council.

Our Mission:

The TCEP is dedicated to advocating for the profession of Emergency Medicine through expert guidance on policy matters and strategic advice to relevant bodies. Our mission encompasses delivering comprehensive Emergency Medicine education and training, which leads to specialist recognition in a variety of specialized fields, including:

  • Resuscitation

  • Clinical Toxicology

  • Disaster Medicine

  • Emergency Ultrasonography

  • Prehospital Emergency Medicine

We are committed to hosting academic conferences, providing continuing education opportunities, and conducting a wide range of activities for our growing community of over 2,000 members. Our network includes 25 training centers dedicated to the advancement of emergency medical practice.

Strategic Vision:

Building on decades of successful operation, TCEP is now focused on establishing a prominent presence on the global stage. Our goal is to elevate the role of emergency physicians in public policy and enhance public health literacy through academic research, international conferences, and leadership in the field of Emergency Medicine.
